Dim my eyes if they should compromise our fulcrum if wants and needs divide me I might as well be gone. Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent sun.

Grading AIMS
Mrs. Brawley has to individually check the bubbles in each students’ AIMS answer sheet to make sure they bubbled neatly and have no stray marks. There are 295 answer sheets that still need to be checked and Mrs. Brawley can check 4 tests every minute. Five minutes after she starts, Mrs. Shipley sits down to join her. Mrs. Shipley can check 7 tests every minute. When they are finished checking the entire pile, how many answer sheets has each person checked?
A Poem of Threes
I really love the number three,
So when I store my books, you see:
(Now pay attention to these facts)
I pile them all in 3-high stacks.
My books (now, don’t be terrified)
Are all in 3 rooms side-by-side;
The count per room (don’t be perplexed)
Is triple, one room to the next.
At 40 books, I bought some more
But never reached one hundred four.
So now deduce (oh, please don’t groan)
How many books I claim I own.

Block Letters
Make block letters on 10 by 10 grids, trying to make each one so it covers as close benchmark percents as possible (50%, 25%, 75%, etc)
Sense or Non-Sense
1. Mr. Bragg says he is right 100% of the time?
2. The Todd family ate out last Saturday. The bill was $36. Would a 50% tip be too much to leave? Why?
3. Joe loaned Jeff a dollar. he said the interest would be 75% a day. Is this a pretty good deal for Joe? Why?
4. Cindy sepends 100% of her allowance on candy. Do you think this is sensible? Why?
5. The Never Miss basketball team memebers made 10% of the baskets they tried. Do you think they should change their name?
6. Sarah missed 10 problems on the science test. Do you thin her percent is enough tfor her to earn an A? Why?
7. Rosa has a paper route. She gets to keep 25% of whatever she collects. Do you thnink this is a good deal? Why?
8. The weather reporter said, "There's a one hundred percent chance of rain tomorrow." Is this a reasonable prediction?
9. Mrs. Green was complaining, "Prices have gone up at least two hundred percent this past year." Do you think she is exaggerating?
10. A store advertised, "Best sale ever, 10% discount on all items." Is this a good sale?
