Let's Make a Deal

You are asked to choose one of three doors. Behind two of the doors there are donkeys, behind one of the doors is a cash prize. Once you have selected a door, the game show host will reveal one of the doors with a donkey. He will then ask you if you would like to keep the door you have chosen or switch and choose the other door remaining. Is it in your best interest to switch?

If I were to stay at whatever I pick I have a 1/3 chance at winning. If I switch I have a 2/3 chance at winning because I already saw a goat. That means only 1 goat is left so you would have a fair chance. If I originally pick a goat, the guy will show another one so I can switch and win. That can only happen 2 ways though. The only way I can lose if I already have the money and switch to a goat.

In my backpack i have six spray cans, eight markers, my black book, and two pencils. What is the probability of me reaching into my pack and pulling out a marker and then a pencil.

"8/17 x 2/16=16/265"

in my backpack theres 2 markers,5 pens, and 2 mechanical pencils. what is the probability of getting a marker and then a pencil?
2/9 x 2/8=4/72
the 4 represents the different combinations of getting a marker and then a pencil. the 72 represents the total combinations of the items in your backpack.

The 16 is how many ways i can get a marker then a pencil. the 265 is how many ways i can get 6 spray cans,8 markers, my black book, and 2 pencils.
