Shape Cutter

Create a trapezoid:
1. Comment on the lengths of the bases.
- Cut it to make it a parallelogram.
2. Describe what you removed as a result of your cuts.
- Select "Mix Up,"
- Put the shape back together.
3. Describe the tranformations (tranlate, rotate, reflect) which occured in order to put the shape back together.

Repeat this process changing a trapezoid into a rectangle, a square, and finally a rhombus.

to make a square we had to cut 2 triangles on the sides.

2. To create the parallelogram I cut a triangle out of the trapezoid figure.

3. To put the triangle and the parallelogram back together I had to rotate the parallelogram and then slide it. With the triangle I also had to rotate and then slide the triangle.

1) The length of base 1 was 6, the length of base 2 was 12. As a result of the cuts the trapezoid became a parallelogram , we had to remove a triangle. When we mixed up the shapes the procedures we did to remake the shape was to rotate the parallelogram counter clockwise and then translated it + y-axis. Then we rotated the triangle clockwise and translated the figure - y-axis.

2) The legnth of base 1 is 4, the length of base 2 is 8. As a result of cutting the trapezoid we got a square and a triangle. When we remade the shape when it was mix up we rotated the square and then translated it. We translated the triangle then then we rotated it.

Base two: Of our trapezoid is 10.
2. We cut a triangle from the right end of the trapezoid and got a parallelogram.
3. We rotated the parallelogram over to a 90 degree angle. We rotated the triangle piece clockwise to a 90 degree angle. We also translated both shapes across the graph.

RHOMBUS:
1. Base one: Of our trapezoid is 10.
Base two: Of our trapezoid is 21.
2. We cut a rhombus from the left side of our trapezoid.
3. We rotated the rhombus 180 degrees counter clockwise. We translated the triangle upward, and also translated the rhombus.

RECTANGLE:
1. Base one: Of our trapezoid is 5.
Base two: Of our trapezoid is 9.
2. We cut a rectangle form the middle of our trapezoid.
3. We rotated the square by a little, and rotated the triangles 180 degrees. We translated all of the shapes.

First Trapezoid:

Base 2: Base two is the bottom which is 14.

2. I made a trapezoid and the cut it to make it a parallelogram. So to make it a parallelogram i had to cut off a triangle.

3. Now i have to put it back together which I have to use tranfsformations. So to put it back together I use translation and rotation, and refelction.

To make the parellelogram into a trapoziod we had to cut out the triangle with a slope of positive 8 and positive 3.
To get the " mix up" back to its original figure we turned the parallelogram counter clockwise 90 degrees and translated it to the left. The we turn triangle clockwise about 90 degrees and translated it to the left.
2.Base- 13 sqaure
Base 2 -5 sqaure
couldn't make a rhombus out of this trapezoid.
